Below are a collection of fantasy related video games for PC computers. Most of the games are Role Playing Games and Dungeons & Dragons related.

Freeware

Angband and ZAngband (All systems) - A freeware computer role playing game based (loosely) on the books of J.R.R.Tolkien. You explore a very deep dungeon, kill monsters, try to equip yourself with the best weapons and armor you can find, and finally face Morgoth - "The Dark Enemy".
Dink Smallwood (PC 25 MB) - Explore a magical world and help a boy become a man. Seth's humor has been called 'strange', weird' and even 'satanic' by one christian webpage. See for yourself! Includes "Mystery Island" a Dink Module (or DMOD) that continues the game. Rated PG. Get more DMOD's from the Dink Network (the adventure never ends!)

Exile I: Escape from the Pit (PC 1.7 MB, MAC 1.6 MB) - The first game in the Exile trilogy, which takes place in the strange subterranean world of Exile. Exile is populated by the misfits and malcontents of the surface world, people who were forever banished to the underworld for being too strange, or too antisocial, or having too many incorrect opinions.
Exile II: Crystal Souls (PC 2 MB, MAC 2 MB) - Exile II: Crystal Souls is the sequel to the shareware hit Exile: Escape From the Pit. Several years have passed since the events in the first game. Now, the Empire, the cruel monolithic nation ruling the surface world, has realized that Exile, the nation they created, has become highly dangerous. Their troops are now being teleported into Exile in great numbers, overwhelming the defenses of the beleagured souls below.
Exile III: Ruined World (PC 3 MB, MAC 3 MB) - Exile III: Ruined World is the triumphant conclusion to the Exile trilogy, a massive epic withelegant interface, fascinating plot, and beautiful grapics and sound. A more fascinating and playable game, one will be very hard pressed to find.

A Bard's Tale (Windows 2000 / XP / 98) - The Bard's Tale, a non-linear action/role-playing game, the player takes on the role of the Bard, a man driven by carnal rather than noble pursuits.Set in the Orkney islands of Scotland, the bard is a character who "makes magic" by playing music. This sardonic and opportunistic musician and adventurer is not interested in saving the world, his humble motivations are strictly "coin and cleavage." The player chooses the Bard's responses, either 'snarky' or 'nice', towards other characters he encounters. Each choice changes the course of events in the game.
Diablo 2 (PC) - The sequal to the original hit, Diablo! Expanded world filled with all-new quests, weapons, spells, armor, monsters, and nonplayer characters.
Customized advancement system allows players to choose skills and powers each time they advance.
Morrowind - The Elder Scrolls III (PC) - This is by far one of my favorite adventure games out there. It not only allows for fantastic character development (like all great rpg games should), but the game is almost endless. Not only is there a set plot you can complete (which will take well over 40 full hours to finish), but there are hundreds of subplots you can follow - assassination, escort jobs, negotiations, trade runs, and many more. Another big highlight of the game is the choice to become a vampire. That's right, once bitten you can choose the path of the undead and ravage the land.
Neverwinter Nights (PC) - This is a great AD&D game that allows for fantastic character development. You choose from standard AD&D classes, and development is based on 3rd edition rules. My only regret is the level limit (max is 20). Granted, although restricting to some players, this level limit makes the multiplayer games alot more challenging. A popular feature allows users to create thier own modules and share them with friends. In my opinion, this game is another hack n slash rpg that gets repetative after awhile (especially when all the mods out there are very similar)
Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls IV (PC / XBox360) - Oblivion, the fourth game in the Elder Scrolls series, is set within the province of Cyrodiil, the heartland and Imperial capital of Tamriel. Emperor Uriel Septim VII is assassinated in flight from his own palace, but just before he dies he passes on to you—the foreordained of his dreams—the mystic Amulet of Kings. The adventure proper begins with the quest to find Uriel's lost and illegitimate son—the only heir to the throne. In a world where the forces of darkness seek their ultimate dominion over the ranks of man and mer alike, you alone stand between the future of Tamriel and the gates of Oblivion.
Skyrim - The Elder Scrolls V (PC / PS3 / XBox360) - Skyrim is the fifth installment in The Elder Scrolls action role-playing video game series. Set two hundred years after Oblivion, the game takes place in the land of Skyrim, which is in the midst of a civil war after the assassination of the High King. The open world gameplay of the Elder Scrolls series returns in Skyrim; the player can explore the land at will and ignore or postpone the main quest indefinitely.
