Zuggtmoy is utterly inhuman, but she can mold her fungoid form into an approximation of a bipedal shape, including the skeletal-thin female figure draped in mycelia and luchen — often depicted in grimoires and ancient art.

Instructions: Because this creature is an Fiend, the player should roll a Arcana Check using the DCs in the table below. On a success, the player is able to harvest the item. On a failure, the item cannot be harvested (either because the character is not skilled enough, or because the item is ruined). The DM should note that many of the items have an expiration, and can not be sold or used after the expiration has passed.

ITEM: Zyggtmoy Fungus (sack) DC: 10
Zyggtmoy is a creature made of, and covered in, various kinds of fungi. When the creature is destroyed, much of these fungi are left behind. Many adventurers would rather be safe and burn everything, but it is possible to harvest some of the rarer fungi to sell to healers and alchemists.

ITEM: Zyggtmoy Infestation Puffball (1d6 balls) DC: 15
Among the many lichen and molds that cover Zuggtmoy are several spores. Some of these spore are extremely dangerous, causing disease and poison. Zuggtmoy's Infestation Puffballs are small, puffy red balls that contain a collection of spores. These spores are prized by horticulturists and mycologists.

Use: Using an action, you can throw one of these puffballs at a creature you can see within 30 feet. If the target is hit, the small ball explodes into a cloud of spores, and the target must make a DC 17 saving throw. On a successful save, the creature can't be infected by these spores for 24 hours. On a failed save, the creature is infected with a disease called the spores of Zuggtmoy that lasts until the creature is cured of the disease or dies. While infected in this way, the creature can't be reinfected, and it must repeat the saving throw at the end of every 24 hours, ending the infection on a success. On a failure, the infected creature's body is slowly taken over by fungal growth, and after three such failed saves, the creature dies.

Zuggtmoy's Mind Control Puffballs are small, puffy green balls that contain a collection of spores. These spores are prized by horticulturists and mycologists.

ITEM: Zyggtmoy Yellow Puffball DC: 25
When Zuggtmoy is slain, there is a chance that it drops a soft, furry yellow ball, the size of a baseball. When placed on a surface for more than an hour, mold begins to form and spread out from the seed (this includes the interior of a backpack or other storage contain). The spore's purpose is unknown, and an identify spell will not reveal its true nature.

The puffball is capable of giving rise to another Zuggtmoy. Only a powerful wizard or master horticultors/mycologist will know what the puffball is. The puffball has 100 hitpoints, and has a damage threshold of 30 (An object with a damage threshold has immunity to all damage unless it takes an amount of damage from a single attack or effect equal to or greater than its damage threshold).

In d20 + 30 days, the puffball explodes, releasing a cloud of dust, that quickly disperses in the air. The dust contains millions of spores, one of which will give rise to another Zuggtmoy somewhere in the world.

Expiration

Many harvested goods will start to rot and decay after a period of time. Below is a quick overview of how we determine expiration dates, and is used as a guide for most harvested items. Note: It is always up to the DM to decide on the exact expiration.

Most poisons are viable for about 2 week. However, each poison is different. In additions, proficiency with a poisoner's kit may allow assassins the ability to extend the shelf-life every few weeks (adding other ingredients to extend the poison's usefulness)

Usually a strip of skin, which can be preserved with some oil to last a little longer than other flesh.
Wings

While wings contain flesh, which rots quickly, the bones and leather/feather last much longer, making the wings usefulness last longers.
