These usually come in pairs. They are two smooth, gray stone rocks, carved into perfect 1-inch cubes, with slightly rounded edges. When these rocks are placed into a liquid container, no larger than 32 oz, the liquid cools down to 40°F and 42°F (4-6°C) [the temperature of a cool drink with ice]. If placed in larger amounts of water, the stones do not work at all.
Note: A waterskin is 4 pints (64 ounces), so it would need to be half full for the cubes to work.
