This is a leather sheath that slides over the covers of a book. This item protects a book from heat and fire damage. Even when open, the book be protected from fire (and even lava) as long as the book cover remains in place. The bookcover stretches/shrinks as needed. However, it will not fit on any book with a cover larger than 2 feet tall or wide, or any book with a cover smaller than 6 inches tall or wide. The book cover does not protect from water or acid. This item was created by wizards to protect tomes while traversing the Plane of Fire.
